After graduating from The University of Iowa, I arrived in Kansas City in 1996. I taught high school Economics, Government, and American History, along with coaching full time and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs. Having lived north of the river early on, moving to the Brookside and Sunset Hills area for 15 years, and now presiding in Leawood, I know this city well. Having raised three children with different strengths, and having taught and coached in the KC metro area, I have much knowledge regarding public, private and parochial schools. I am currently a member of the Blue Valley Special Education Parents Advisory Council, and parent representative for Team Up For St. Jude KC, a student led organization that involves over 15 different KC metro school communities raising funds and awareness in the fight against pediatric cancer.
