I grew up in a big family on a farm in Northwest Iowa as the sixth of seven siblings. Our parents instilled in us a strong work ethic and the ability to find joy in every task. Whether we were painting fences, planting flower beds, rearranging furniture, or tackling full-scale renovations, we learned to see the potential in everything.

My appreciation for homes started young. Walking through older houses, I could instantly envision the history held within their walls—and the possibilities for bringing new life to them. That passion carried into adulthood when my husband and I built our first home together in 1996. Managing the purchasing and finances while he handled construction showed us the value of teamwork and the deep satisfaction of creating a home from the ground up.
